As per Corriere della Sera, via Sport Witness, there has been an exit development out of Italy involving Tottenham Hotspur's Pierluigi Gollini.

The Lowdown: Spurs possess buy option...

Although the Italian is only on loan in north London from Atalanta, Spurs do possess a buy-option for the player worth around £12.9m according to reliable reports.

However, despite Fabio Paratici signing him to cover number one Hugo Lloris in cup competitions, the 26-year-old has barely seen a blade of grass during his time at the club - making just 10 appearances in total since the start of 2021/2022.

This has lead to questions surrounding whether Spurs will trigger the permanent deal clause, but according to CDS, Spurs fans already have the answer.

The Latest: Gollini certain to go...

The regional Italian newspaper (via SW) claim Gollini will 'almost certainly' leave Spurs and return to his parent club.

They add that the player's agent, Beppe Riso, has already received contact from Serie A giants Lazio who could replace their keeper Thomas Strakosha with Tottenham's loanee shot stopper.

The Verdict: Won't be missed...

Gollini is undoubtedly a keeper with serious ability when in form and given regular chances in the first team.

Eric Dier, speaking at the start of the season, even raved over the 'amazing' one-cap Italy international who brings 'great energy to the dressing room, great energy to training' and is 'always giving 100 per cent' (tottenhamhotspur.com).

Journalist Carlo Garganese, praising Gollini for rejuvenating his career after a failed spell at Aston Villa, heralded the keeper as an 'imposing' and 'commanding' one.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs regret not playing him more, but he now appears more or less out the door.
