Tottenham Hotspur have a dilemma on their hands that nobody seems to know how to solve.

Spurs rebounded after a hard-fought draw at home to Manchester United by beating West Ham on Tuesday night.

Although Harry Kane picked up all the plaudits after scoring his 18th goal of the season, Tanguy Ndombele was once again relegated to the bench.

Ndombele did not feature at all against the Red Devils or the Hammers. In fact, he has been an unused substitute for the past three games in a row.

Jose Mourinho moved to quell rumours of a rift between the pair but gossip continues to circulate online.

According to The Athletic, as per Ricky Sacks, Ndombele remains determined to stay and fight for a place in the starting lineup. He admires Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and is eager to force himself into the first team under Mourinho, contrary to the head coach's reservations.

However, he may not have any choice in the matter, despite his best efforts to prove himself. Reports emerged earlier this week that Barcelona are willing to kill two birds with one stone by using Philippe Coutinho in a swap-deal for Ndombele.

The 23-year-old has struggled for consistency this season but has still caught the attention of the La Liga giants, who are keen to offload Coutinho in the summer.

While Mourinho has attempted to refute the rumours, it is hard to deny the two have a stormy relationship.

Although Levy has made it clear the Frenchman is not for sale, the Portuguese may find the offer too tempting to ignore, especially as he is aware his budget has been severely slashed in response to the coronavirus crisis.
