According to Italian news source TUTTOmercatoWEB, a Tottenham Hotspur transfer update has now come to light this week involving Torino defender Gleison Bremer.

The Lowdown: Conte sends club official...

Over the weekend, Spurs manager Antonio Conte personally tasked a club official with running the rule over Bremer as the centre-back's side took on Serie A giants Inter Milan.

Indeed, according to reports, the Italian sent his own assistant coach Cristian Stellini to the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on Sunday as Conte's number two scouted Bremer.

The Brazilian, seemingly auditioning for a possible role at Spurs, couldn't have done any better.

Bremer opened the scoring against Inter inside just 15 minutes and put on a Man of the Match display as his side held Simone Inzaghi's title-chasers to a 1-1 draw.

Now, following this development, TMW have an update for Lilywhites supporters.

The Latest: President awaiting Spurs bid?

According to their sources, Torino president Urbano Cairo 'awaits the auction' for Bremer this summer with Tottenham, Bayern Munich, Juventus, AC Milan, Inter and Liverpool all present in the race for his signature.

The Serie A club chief has set a price of around €30 million (£25m) but believes a possible offer from Spurs, and by extension chairman Daniel Levy, alongside moves from other interested clubs, could lead to Torino carrying out an auction and selling to the 'highest bidder'.

The Verdict: Let the battle commence?

The South American powerhouse, called an 'emerging superstar' by Calcio Italiano experts (Rajath Kumar, ex-Forza Italian Football writer), could certainly be worth the tussle for Tottenham.

Bremer had his full class on display during his side's draw with Inter on Sunday and Stellini quite simply must have been impressed.

The 24-year-old, up against a world class front pair in Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez, managed to win 4/6 of his ground duels whilst making a mighty seven clearances and three interceptions to boot (SofaScore).

A brick wall at the back, not a single Inter star managed to dribble past Bremer over the entire 90 minutes plus added time (SofaScore).

Despite late heartbreak coming through a last gasp Alexis Sanchez equaliser, the former Atletico Mineiro colossus more than proved his worth and is certainly one to watch.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has even called him 'incredible', listing Bremer as one of Europe's three 'hidden gem' players (YouTube).

As Cairo awaits a potential Tottenham bid and the beginning of a summer auction, we believe Levy and co should promptly oblige.
