Sky Sports, sharing news on live TV on Friday, have revealed the latest on the 'developing' Djed Spence saga for Tottenham Hotspur supporters.

The Lowdown: Spurs keep moving...

Lilywhites sporting director Fabio Paratici has been one of the busier operators so far this summer as the Italian aims to build upon last season's success under manager Antonio Conte.

Spurs sensationally secured a top-four finish in the Premier League, granting them the riches of Champions League qualification for 2022/2023, an achievement which was swiftly rewarded by ENIC's £150 million equity increase.

The north Londoners, summing up a fantastic last month, have also completed deals for Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma just three weeks into the summer.

The Latest: Sky Sports share 'developing' Spurs transfer news...

Now, after recent 'negotiations', Sky have shared a constantly 'developing' story out of Hotspur Way.

Giving a transfer update for supporters, the broadcast giant has brought a development on Tottenham's links to Middlesbrough starlet and exciting wing-back Spence.

Sky explained, as per their reporter Mark McAdam (via Football Daily):

"At the moment, after negotiations in London this week, Middlesbrough and Tottenham remain apart in their valuation.

"What we know is that Tottenham are desperate to sign Spence, we know that Spence is desperate to play for Conte and join Tottenham.

"This is all now down to money.

"But what we are told, if Tottenham can't get this deal over the line, they will move on to other targets, and there are other targets that they're looking at.

"Once again, this is a developing story we will keep right across."

The Verdict: Pay the money...

Signing the 21-year-old comes as a real no-brainer and we believe chairman Daniel Levy, who has apparently taken over in talks for Spence while Paratici focuses on other targets, should invest.

Homegrown and able to balance their quota issue, the wing-back has also been called a 'perfect player' for Conte for talkSPORT's Alex Crook and we believe his arrival should certainly be Spurs' fourth of the window.

Spence was integral to Nottingham Forest's promotion push over 2021/2022 whilst playing a position Conte utilises to perfection. Spurs would be foolish to let this one slip through their fingers.
