# Everton: Cenk Tosun offer made with talks ongoing

**Everton now look set to lose Cenk Tosun this summer, as Besiktas have made an offer for the striker, with talks currently ongoing.**

### The Lowdown: Flop

It is safe to say that the 30-year-old has been a flop since his arrival at Goodison Park back in 2018 in a whopping [£27m](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5240245/Everton-sign-Cenk-Tosun-finally-replace-Romelu-Lukaku.html) deal.

The [45-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/cenk-tosun/nationalmannschaft/spieler/45671/verein_id/3381) Turkey international has only managed a mere 11 goals in total over 61 games for the club across all competitions ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/cenk-tosun/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/45671/plus/0?saison=&verein=29&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)), which is simply not a good enough output for that kind of outlay.

Nonetheless, with his contract on Merseyside expiring in the [summer](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/cenk-tosun/profil/spieler/45671), he now looks set to leave for good.

### The Latest: Offer made for Tosun

As per Turkish news outlet [Sabah](https://www.sabah.com.tr/spor/futbol/2022/03/05/tosun-pasa-ile-sicak-temas), an offer of a three-year contract has now been made by Beskitas to take Tosun back before the end of the season.

Talks between the parties are ongoing as they look to strike a deal for his departure.

### The Verdict: Get rid

Given that Tosun is currently earning [£60,000-per-week](https://www.spotrac.com/epl/everton-fc/cenk-tosun-24729/) at Everton, now is the best time to just get rid of him.

The Turkey international has played a mere [11 minutes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/cenk-tosun/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/45671/plus/0?saison=2021&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) of football in total so far this season, and at 30 years of age, he could now be past his best.

Nonetheless, with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison still at Goodison Park, he will not be missed all that much.
