# Tottenham Hotspur: Juan Cuadrado surely impressed Daniel Levy

**Tottenham have been linked with versatile Juventus star Juan Cuadrado in recent days, and his performance on international duty this week will certainly have caught Daniel Levy’s eye.**

This forms part of our ***Transfer Watch*** series, where we react to a performance from a current transfer target.

### The Lowdown: Cuadrado links

According to Italian football journalist [Rudy Galetti this week](https://twitter.com/RudyGaletti/status/1506285792066424834), Tottenham Hotspur have now ‘got in touch’ with the agent of Cuadrado over a potential move from Juventus to North London, and Paratici ‘would be glad’ to sign him, should he fail to reach an agreement over his contract.

His deal expires this [summer](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/juan-cuadrado/profil/spieler/91970), and so while his [priority](https://twitter.com/RudyGaletti/status/1506285792066424834) is apparently to renew it, his future is still up in the air, with teams like Spurs now looking to sign him as a free agent.

### The Latest: Surely impressed Levy

Cuadrado surely impressed Levy and Fabio Paratici with his latest international display for Colombia, starring in a 3-0 win for the hosts against Bolivia in a FIFA World Cup qualifying game on Thursday night.

The 33-year-old grabbed himself the assist for the opening goal for Luis Diaz, after picking out the Liverpool ace with a [pinpoint](https://twitter.com/camikofman/status/1507148751399489547) pass.

He also won four of his duels, and recorded two shots, one clearance, one interception, one tackle, one cross and seven accurate long balls in total ([SofaScore](https://www.sofascore.com/colombia-bolivia/WUbsvWb)).

Cuadrado also made no fewer than three key passes, the joint-most out of any player on the pitch, and had a mammoth 110 touches of the ball, only bettered by teammate Gustavo Cuellar ([SofaScore](https://www.sofascore.com/colombia-bolivia/WUbsvWb)).

His 7.7. match rating was only bettered by goalscorer Diaz and man of the match James Rodriguez.

### The Verdict: Sign!

Aside from his impressive performance, one thing that would have stood out to Levy was the fact that Cuadrado was playing in the [centre of midfield](https://www.sofascore.com/colombia-bolivia/WUbsvWb).

Traditionally, he is a [right-back or right-midfielder](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/juan-cuadrado/profil/spieler/91970) by trade, and so would probably fit into Antonio Conte’s system more as a right wing-back.

Nonetheless, his versatility means that he could fulfil a number of different roles for the Italian, and could be the marquee utility man that he needs in order to kick on next season.

Nonetheless, on a free transfer, it is surely a n0-brainer for Levy to bring in someone of his quality and [experience](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/juan-cuadrado/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/91970), adding depth to multiple positions in one cheap swoop.
