Alan Biggs believes Steve Bruce is a managerial target for Sheffield Wednesday

Things certainly have not been easy for Sheffield Wednesday and Jos Luhukay this season.

The Owls had a transfer embargo to deal with in the summer before they appeared to be climbing up the Championship table and remaining in and around the playoff picture.

However, a few months have since passed by and Wednesday are struggling to get a win, with the pressure thought to be mounting on Luhukay.

Some experienced managers have already been sacked this season which has upped the ante at the Owls recently and it appears one man is being sounded out for the possible role if it does become available.

According to the Sheffield Star’s Alan Biggs, Steve Bruce continues to remain in the frame for the job and has been the target of soundings via a third party.

However, the journalist also mentioned there could be issues with timings, as the manager may not want to take over during the festive period.

The Verdict:

Bruce is a proven Championship manager, and although things did not go well at Aston Villa this season, he has enough experience to turn things around at Hillsborough.

It remains to be seen if he will be keen to take the job on at Wednesday, or if the club will be prepared to wait for him to be ready should he not be.

However, one thing appears to be certain and that is that Luhukay does not appear to have too long left in the dugout.
