It’s been a tough 12 months for Arsenal and manager Arsene Wenger, who has come under serious pressure from the Gunners fans unhappy with the way the club is being run.
It’s often said in football that a manager who stays at the helm of a club for too long is at risk of losing idea of what the club is really about and that can certainly be said for Wenger, who has struggled to remain in control as supporters become more and more divided.
The Arsenal fans lining the bar here in the pub are very much a split bunch as to his future in-charge but after the Frenchman signed a new two-year deal, there’s little more that can be argued on and the club must move forward as one to climb the table.
But one saga that is still ongoing at the Emirates this summer is whether or not star striker Alexis Sanchez will be on the move or not.
The Chilean has been linked with all manor of transfers away from North London over the past few weeks but there’s one former Gunners legend that has thrown down a stunning ultimatum, should the former Barcelona man indeed leave.
Ian Wright has proposed that should Sanchez leave the Emirates, the club should be trying to sign either Robert Lewandowski or Costa, with the identify of the latter still confused as to whether it’s the Brazilian winger from Munich or the outbound Chelsea star.
A bold statement indeed but certainly two players that would attempt to make up for a potential Sanchez departure, that’s for sure!
Chelsea fans- could you see a deal like this working out? Leave your thoughts down below!
