We at the Football Transfer Tavern think it has been a bad week for David Beckham. The midfielder has lost his right to call himself Golden Balls after Lionel Messi won a fourth golden ball and now AC Milan have distanced themselves from signing him again this January according to Sky Sports.
The former England skipper has of course left LA Galaxy in favour of one final challenge and after moving his family back to London it did look like being in the capital. However Sky claim the player had his heart set on a move to AC Milan for the third time and is now set to be disappointed.
Whilst the club have nothing but good things to say about the footballing icon, Adriano Galliani claimed to Gazzetta that he was “99.9% sure the move would not happen.” This is however football and as we all know anything can happen.
Beckham is currently trying to find a club after a huge amount of initial interest, yet clubs such as Monaco have been deterred by his huge wage demands, according to the Daily Mail. Beckham would also have to ponder returning to England after such a distinguished time at Old Trafford that he may or may not want to tarnish.
