The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been discussing the future of their Swedish striker, Marcus Antonsson, who spent this season out on loan in League One with Blackburn Rovers. The 27-year-old contributed seven goals and three assists in the league and his future at Elland Road is unclear as Lee Sobot reports (sourcing his quotes from Fotboll Direkt) that Swedish sides Malmo and Hammarby are both interested in the striker.
Marcus Antonsson's agent Anders Karlsson: "Interest is great in Marcus. But (as of) today we do not know what Leeds want and he has a year left on his contract. "I think in a month we will know more." Malmo and Hammarby both said to be keen. #lufc

Antonsson has one year left on his Leeds United contract, and in fairness to him, he’s been unlucky not to feature more at Elland Road considering the dross that the Whites currently have employed to score goals. Caleb Ekuan and Jay-Roy Grot only managed to pitch in with a goal each in the Championship this season whilst the Swedish loanee managed to beat their combined tally by five goals, although he was playing in a lower division.
Whilst the future of the striker is unclear, the fact that two clubs from Sweden’s top flight have earmarked him a transfer target is promising news for the striker. Antonsson is yet to win his first cap and play for his country, although if he can make the right decision in the summer, find his feet and start scoring goals, then there’s no reason why the 27-year-old can’t make his long-awaited debut for the national team. For now, though, he’ll have to watch his countryman on the television as they travel to Russia this summer.

Won’t get a game, might as well look to leave tbh.

TBH I'm surprised Rovers haven't asked for him permanently.

For Christ sake give him a go he’s miles above 90% of the strikers weve got he just doesn’t suit one upfront and neither does our bloody squad

Have we a list of players that have being told they are not wanted rather than a list of players who are in or out of contract Lee
