Birmingham City are thought to only be allowed to sign one player this winter due to Financial Fair Play rules and it appears they are close to confirming one deal.
The Sweden international is currently a free agent following his departure from Djurgardens IF in November.
The 24-year-old is a versatile attacker as he can be effective as either a forward or an attacking midfielder, bolstering Garry Monk’s options in the final third of the pitch.
Mrabti netted 18 goals and assisted 14 times in his 77 matches in the Allsvenskan, making him a highly-regarded player in Sweden.
Birmingham are under tight restrictions currently when it comes down to making transfers and only have one slot left available to make an addition.
With the fact that Birmingham are only able to sign one player this winter, Mrabti could be considered an excellent coup for the club.
The 24-year-old would certainly be able to offer the Blues an additional attacking threat as they look to try and continue their aims of winning promotion to the Premier League.
Monk’s side are currently eighth in the Championship table and sit just four points behind Derby County in the final playoff spot.
