Birmingham have no interest in letting Isaac Vassell leave - Birmingham

Birmingham City supporters will be gutted with yesterday’s result in the Second City derby. It was a day to forget for fans as one particular individual embarrassed the whole club and Jack Grealish later went on to rub salt in the wounds.

And, to make matters worse, it appears as if one of Monk’s current first-team members is attracting interest ahead of the summer transfer window. Fans have gotten used to seeing Che Adams being linked with a move away from St Andrew’s, but the latest rumour will be sure to surprise supporters.

What’s the news?

Middlesbrough are planning to renew their interest in Birmingham City’s Isaac Vassell and could make an offer in July, according to The Sun (10 March, page 61) (via HITC).

However, the Blues have no interest in selling the attacker and will move to extend his contract.

The 25-year-old has featured eight times for Birmingham City in the current campaign, but he’s yet to score.

The Verdict:

Birmingham City fans are already dreading the thought of losing Che Adams in the summer transfer window, so they won’t want to lose another attacker.

Vassell has all the ingredients to become a star in the Championship but he only returned from injury back in January, so he’ll be looking to finish the season strongly.

Garry Monk may have a decision to make in the summer transfer window as a £2 million offer could potentially turn his head, as he would then be able to go out and strengthen in many different areas. But, as things stand, it looks as if the only thing the club wants is to keep him in the summer and extend his contract at St Andrew’s.

Birmingham City fans, after witnessing Che Adams’ rise at St Andrew’s, do you believe that Isaac Vassell could follow in his footsteps?
