Blackburn Rovers will be looking to get their transfer business going this summer and it appears that Tony Mowbray has found his next target to help improve his side.
The Ewood Park outfit were promoted back to the Championship at the end of last season after finishing runners-up of League One and it was expected that they would make a number of changes.
The Lancashire side have already made four signings so far during the summer, with Adam Armstrong signing from Newcastle United, Kasey Palmer joining on loan from Chelsea, Jove Davenport on a temporary deal from Manchester City and Joe Rothwell from Oxford United.
However, it looks as though Rovers are looking to add a fifth recruit to their side and have already tabled a bid for the player.
However, it is believed that the bid falls well short of the MLS outfit’s valuation for the United States of America captain and remains to be seen if the Championship side will make an improved offer.
Trapp would be an excellent signing for Blackburn to make, however, it looks extremely unlikely at this point.
The 25-year-old has become one of Columbus Crews’ best players and his form has seen him take the armband for his country for the last four of their five games.
However, with an offer so far from the MLS side’s valuation, there will be question marks about if the Championship side can meet that, or even get anywhere near close to having a bid considered.
