In recent weeks there has been intense speculation over Brazilian midfielder Hernanes‘ future with most of us at the Football Transfer Tavern feeling that the Lazio player was set for pastures new, however Football Italia has reported that the player will remain with the club.
A host of clubs had been linked to the player in the Italian press including Inter Milan, yet the player looks set to stay with the side currently placed fifth in Serie A this season. A strong denial came from the player’s agent, as he disclosed to calciomercato.it. that “we have received offers, But [Lazio President Claudio] Lotito does not want to sell and the player is happy in Rome. I do not see why he would want to leave and he has never said he wanted to either.”
Hernanes has been a constant fixture at the Stadio Olimpico since his arrival with the 27-year-old having made over 100 appearances for the Rome-based side in the last two years. Hernanes is currently under contract until 2015.
The player himself is settled in Rome and is looking to increase the 8 caps he has for the Brazilian national team, claiming that “I have confidence in myself and I will take up a place in the national team.”
