Caleb Ekuban edging closer to Elland Road exit

Marcelo Bielsa could see one of his fringe men leave Elland Road this summer as he looks to trim his squad.

According to a report by Fotomac, Caleb Ekuban is wanted by Turkish outfit Trabzonspor and it is believed the club have already opened talks about a possible move.

The 24-year-old is thought to be surplus to requirements at the Whites and has struggled to make a real impact since his move last summer.

The Ghanaian joined from Chievo, however, he only managed to find the back of the net once in 20 appearances, which is why it is believed Bielsa does not have any plans for him.

The report does not state what kind of deal is being discussed, although Leeds will be looking to offload the £450k-rated attacker, as per Transfermarkt, permanently, but could consider letting him go on a loan deal with an option to buy included.

The Verdict:

Ekuban clearly does not have a future at Leeds this summer and a move would be the best thing for him and his career.

The striker has yet to feature for Bielsa and the manager is thought to have made it clear to the 24-year-old that he would be better off finding a new club if he wanted to play regular football.

It remains to be seen if talks between the two sides are productive and positive, although it does appear that Ekuban is one step closer to leaving Elland Road.
