Leeds United are going to have to look at player recruitment in the upcoming transfer window. The Whites will need strengthening in certain are areas of the squad and the next few weeks will be able to dictate the quality of players Marcelo Bielsa will be able to bring into Elland Road.
However, the summer is also the perfect opportunity to get rid of the deadwood at the club and it appears one man could be offloaded permanently.
What’s the News?
According to a report by Fanatik, the transfer of Caleb Ekuban to Trabzonspor is ‘sure to take place’.
The Ghana international is currently on loan at the Turkish outfit and has been in good form for them in the Super Lig this season, having netted his fifth goal at the weekend.
The news that Ekuban’s transfer to Trabzonspor is ‘sure to take place’ is hardly going to rustle any feathers at Elland Road in the summer.
The forward may have found his feet in Turkey, however, he failed to really make an impression with the Whites during his first season at the club and his absence is not something many of the fans will have noticed.
Having arrived from Chievo in the summer of 2017, the forward netted just twice in his 21 matches for the club and was immediately frozen out of Bielsa’s plans when the Argentine arrived at the club.
Leeds are understood to receive just over a total of £1million for the Ghana international, which could be money better spent trying to find some extremely talented individuals, regardless of whether the club are in the Premier League or the Championship next season.
Leeds fans, what do you make of Ekuban’s likely departure? Join in with the discussion below by sharing your thoughts with us.
