Leeds United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been eagerly awaiting news on the club’s chase for a new centre back and sources at InsideFutbol.com reckon they know who it may be.
The Yorkshire giants are understood to have turned their attentions to Cardiff City defender Mark Hudson as they look to bolster their backline in time for the new season.
A deal for Swiss international defender Jonathan Rossini looked all but done last week, only for the Whites to pull out of the deal at the last moment with Leeds owner Massimo Cellino questioning the players’ attitude at their Italian training base.
Cellino has targeted players from his native Italy this summer but now seems set to turn to the domestic market with Cardiff City’s Hudson the reported top target according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato as well.
The 32-year-old has been with the Bluebirds since joining from Charlton Athletic in 2009.
He has made over 150 appearances for the Welsh side in that time and was an integral part of the side that won promotion to the Premier League in 2012/13.
However he was unable to help the Bluebirds avoid relegation last season and struggled for regular first team football at the Cardiff City Stadium.
