Charlton Athletic could look to use the January transfer window to strengthen certain areas of their squad.
The Addicks are currently sitting in the League One playoff spots and will be looking to continue their charge to win promotion back to the Championship.
Lee Bowyer’s squad has been rather bare at times with suspensions and injuries taking their course, whilst there may have been concerns at the start of the campaign that there were not enough players to compete.
However, the south London outfit could look to change that in January and could be about to raid one of their local rivals for help.
The 25-year-old has been struggling for game-time at Selhurst Park this season, as his career has been blighted by injuries.
But it appears Charlton could offer him a route back to regular football with a temporary move, something that Williams has experienced a number of times before.
Williams does not appear to be part of Crystal Palace’s plans this season and he could benefit from another spell away from the club.
Moving to Charlton could be great for him, as he would still be within south London, whilst he would also have a chance to play regular football once again.
The Addicks are keen to continue their charge for promotion to the Championship and a player of the 25-year-old’s ability could be exactly what they need to achieve those aims.
