West Bromwich Albion have looked to use the free agency as a way of improving their squad further despite the transfer window being closed.
Darren Moore’s side have already added Wes Hoolahan to their ranks, whilst a number of others are thought to have had trials with the Baggies as well, including the likes of Russell Martin and Bakary Sako.
When asked about Sako, Moore remained coy on the Senegalese attacker but stated he would not be the only one they look at and believes it would be crazy not to have a look at the free transfers still available.
“But to hear the transfer window’s closed and to hear of these free transfers still available and free to come in to have a trial so you can have a look, why not take the opportunity?” he said to the Birmingham Mail.
“It won’t just be Bakary, we’ve had many players in, we’re having a look at many players because the opportunity has presented itself and that’s where we are at the moment.”
West Brom will be looking to win promotion from the Championship this season and taking full advantage of the free market could be the difference to them playing in the Premier League next year.
Although Moore is relatively new to the managerial game, the Baggies boss would do himself no harm in exploring the opportunities presented to him and could find some great acquisitions along the way.
Sako has proven he can play at this level before when he featured for Wolverhampton Wanderers, whilst he has already added the experienced head of Hoolahan this summer.
