Reading fans in the Tavern will be left feeling rather down after hearing that the club have accepted a bid for top scorer Nick Blackman, according to Sky Sports.
Blackman, who is out of contract in the summer, has netted 13 goals this term and Sky Sports believe that Royals’ top scorer is now talking to the Owls over a potential move to Hillsbrough.
Blackman arrived at the club from Sheffield United, Wednesday’s local rivals, in January 2013 for just £1m and since his switch the 26-year old striker has scored 22 goals in 114 appearances- with it being this season that he’s significantly improved his form.
“I’m really settled. I was even through the days when I wasn’t playing too much. There are some great people here. They’ve really been good to me so I’m very happy here.”
However, with Blackman becoming a free agent in the summer, Reading have decided to cash in while they can and the attacker will now hold discussions with Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal- which our landlord feels is an acceptable decision.
