Deal close: Leeds United midfielder set for Italy move

Matt Smith The Leeds United fans are playing skittles this evening in The Transfer Tavern and discussing reports that one of their midfielders is set for a move away from the club.

The Yorkshire Evening Post is reporting that Tomasso Bianchi is set to rejoin former club Ascoli on loan with view to a permanent move in the summer.

Bianchi has been out of favour at Elland Road since recovering from a knee injury and has not appeared for the first team since last season.

The 27 year old joined Leeds from Sassullo in July 2014 and made 24 appearances for the club last season before suffering a knee injury which kept him out for the remainder of the season and needed to operations to fix the problem.

Leeds United manager Steve Evans confirmed that the midfielder was set for a move away from the club by saying:

“He’s got permission to speak to them and that’s likely to happen. He’s a fantastic lad and he’s had a difficult time with injury but I do think the game in Italy suits him better than the game in England.”

“It would be a good move for him at this stage and he was buzzing when I told him about it. It suits all parties.”

The Leeds fans in The Transfer Tavern are delighted with the news as they were never fully convinced with Bianchi’s abilities and hope the club can bring in a player who performs for the team and is used to the rigours of Championship football.
