Although the permanent transfer market is now closed, Leeds could well still be in the hunt to add some more recruits to Bielsa’s squad.
Leeds have been outstanding so far this season and have already beaten Championship contenders Stoke and Derby.
Under Bielsa, the squad has been playing some great attacking football led by the likes of Kemar Roofe and Samu Saiz.
At the back, the Yorkshire club have also been strong and have so far only conceded two goals in the league.
However, despite that impressive defensive record Bielsa is still on the lookout to add another defender as the club only have three out and out centre-backs on their books at the moment.
According to the Tasnim News Agency, Leeds are interested in signing Iranian defender, Morteza Pouraliganji.
The defender has left Qatar side Al Sadd following a very impressive World Cup.
The report states that Morteza Pouraliganji had been close to a move to the Turkish side, Trabzonspor but a move failed to materialise.
A versatile player, Pouraliganji can also play as a defensive and central midfielder, and it’s that versatility that could attract the attention of Bielsa.
The defender is out of contract at the moment, and therefore Leeds are in no rush to sign him.
With Leeds short of some numbers at the back, and following the Iranian’s impressive performances at the World Cup a cheap deal for him could be a shrewd piece of business for the club.
