Derby County supporters who can regularly be found in the Transfer Tavern are fairly content with their season so far and currently occupy an automatic promotion place in the Sky Bet Championship.
The Rams have lost just three times during boss Paul Clement’s first season in charge of the club and have added to their squad already this window, with the signings of Nick Blackman and Abdoul Camara.
Clement is now looking to add to his defensive ranks however and one Rams follower has found a piece in the Sun (via Derby Telegraph), that says the club had a bid turned down last week from Blackburn Rovers, for the services of their full-back Marcus Olsson.
Regular left-back Craig Forsyth will miss the season with a serious knee problem and it is a problem area for the East Midlands-based club.
One Derby fan here in the Tavern thinks Olsson would be a shrewd signing but is slightly concerned that Derby are now appearing to throw money at signings rather than continue the work of Nigel Clough and Steve McClaren, who both opted to blend academy players into the squad!
Derby fans… What do you make to the pursuit of Olsson? Let us know below!
