Leeds United supporters have been pretty buoyant in the Transfer Tavern this week after seeing their side get back to winning ways in the Championship with a 2-1 victory over former manager Garry Monk’s Middlesbrough on Sunday.
Thomas Christiansen’s men went into their clash with the Teessiders having lost each of their previous three league games, but they made the perfect start as Pablo Hernandez gave them a 24th minute lead. Ezgjan Alioski doubled their advantage nine minutes after half time to send the Whites on their way to all three points, and although Britt Assombalonga got one back for the visitors late on, it wasn’t enough to prevent Monk enduring a miserable return to Elland Road just six months on from resigning as Leeds head coach.
Consequently, there have been many delighted Leeds fans in the Tavern this week, many of whom are eagerly anticipating their trip to table-toppers Wolves this evening, although they are unlikely to be overly thrilled by recent news from Lech Poznan’s Twitter handle which discloses that target Kamil Jozwiak has penned a new deal with the club.
The 19-year-old came up through the youth ranks at the Polish outfit and has since gone on to make 29 appearances for the first team, seven of which have come this term.
And with two goals and two assists, the winger was certainly proven his worth to the side, yet was dropped from the side amid his ongoing contract situation, with his former deal set to expire in the summer.
And that attracted interest from Christiansen’s Leeds, who reportedly launched an unsuccessful bid earlier this month, and it looks like the Yorkshire giants won’t get their man at all as Jozwiak has signed a new deal with Lech Poznan.

And this news is unlikely to go down well at Elland Road, with it likely that Christiansen and the Leeds hierarchy will have to turn their attentions to other transfer targets.
Landlord’s verdict: Leeds United’s recent struggles for form has suggested that more reinforcements are needed at Elland Road in January if they are to sustain a Championship promotion challenge in 2018.
And the Yorkshire giants sought to strengthen their squad by launching a bid for Lech Poznan winger Kamil Jozwiak earlier this month, only for the Polish side to turn down their offer.
And it looks like the English outfit have suffered a significant blow in pursuit of the 19-year-old, as he has penned a new deal at the club, surely ending any speculation about his future.
And this will surely frustrate Leeds head coach Thomas Christiansen and the club’s hierarchy, who will now have to seek other targets ahead of the January window.
