Didier Drogba is one player who we in the Football Transfer Tavern will never forget and it seems Marcello Lippi is of a similar vein. Gazzetta Dello Sport claim that the manager has lavished praise on the Ivorian and would love to see him in Serie A.
The veteran manager has claimed that Drogba is still one of the very best in the world and would still be able to play in any league – but he wants to see him at AC Milan. Lippi explained that he feels the 34-year-old would forge a dream partnership with youngster Stephan El Shaarawy and gushed that: “Drogba is still a beast.” Lippi also claimed that the player would prove a successful signing for AC Milan should he arrive at the San Siro, stating that: “He would be vital in both the league and the Champions League.”
The future of the former Chelsea hero has been subject of much speculation, with both AC Milan and Juventus reportedly keeping tabs on the striker who is currently training with his former team mates at Chelsea. Drogba of course is trying to escape his Chinese nightmare at Shanghai Shenhua and would take a significant cut in salary in order to achieve a move.
