Encouraging news for Nottingham Forest as transfer business looks to be completed swiftly

Our Nottingham Forest fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that their side is going to surprise a few people this season and get up the Championship table.

The men from the City Ground narrowly stayed up last season and now Mark Warburton will be eager to try and get his team away from the drop zone and closer to the top six.

For sure, he’ll back himself to do just that and it appears as though a few more signings could be on the way before too long.

Indeed, as quoted by The Nottingham Post, the manager revealed:

“We are looking for two more players now. That will be us done after that. I want a squad of 22 or 23.”

Warburton, then, feels as though he is close to the squad he wants for this season coming and that should be of encouragement to Forest fans.

The club has undergone a fair few changes in recent months with new owners coming in as well as new players and the likes of Britt Assombalonga and soon it will be time to see how that has impacted results with them opening up against Millwall.

Landlord’s Verdict

Forest have done some pretty good business so far this summer and the fact that it has mostly been done swiftly is of a real bonus.

Indeed, if Warburton can have his squad finalised before the opening game against Millwall the team will be nicely settled and ready to go into another long Championship campaign.
