Bristol City supporters present in the Transfer Tavern haven’t had chance to experience much joy this season and just four wins in the first half of the campaign saw boss Steve Cotterill lose his job.
The Robins defeated league leaders Middlesbrough on Saturday and talk has turned to who will become the club’s new manager, following the win.
The Tavern’s landlord has spotted an article in the Bristol Post that has claimed ex-Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pearce has emerged as the shock front runner for the vacancy.
The former England Under-21 manager has not been in work since leaving Forest roughly a year ago, but is now being linked with return to Championship football.
One Robins supporter is helping the landlord clean out the cellar and he thinks the move would be a terrible appointment for the club, citing a lack of tactical knowledge as the main reason for his opinion.
Bristol City fans… What would you make to Pearce taking the role? Let us know in the comments below!
