Barnsley will be desperate to secure promotion straight back to the Championship in the current campaign, whether it be via the play-offs or automatic promotion.
The Tykes have been completely redefined under Daniel Stendel as they continue to impress at Oakwell, despite losing against Wycombe Wanderers today.
Interestingly, they did wave goodbye to one of their youngsters recently, as according to Barnsley’s official website, Gerry McDonagh has joined Aldershot Town on a youth loan.
Interestingly, the 20-year-old, who has made 12 appearances for the Tykes’ U23s side, will be with Aldershot Town until Thursday 3 January 2019.
McDonagh already has experience of playing at this level having featured for Wrexham on loan from Nottingham Forest during the 2016/17 campaign, so he will know exactly what he’s coming up against.
So, perhaps the forward can work his way into Stendel’s plans if he manages to bag a few goals while on loan.
An impressive striker that could go on to be a real asset.
Gerry McDonagh signed for the Reds in the summer, so he could be set to enjoy a run in the first team if he manages to impress while on loan at Aldershot Town.
Kieffer Moore has been carrying the main goalscoring load this season, so perhaps the youngster will help him out at some point in the future at Oakwell.
