West Bromwich Albion will fancy themselves to secure an automatic promotion place in the current campaign, with a success January transfer window helping their cause massively.
The Baggies will face Bolton Wanderers tonight in their next Championship fixture, with three points sending them into third position ahead of Sheffield United.
Interestingly, it appears as if Darren Moore is looking to boost his side’s promotion push, as according to The Sun on Sunday (20/1; page 63) (via HITC), Giles Barnes is set to sign a contract that will initially run until the summer.
West Brom are ready to offer Giles Barnes a contract until the end of the season.
Indeed, the likes of Wes Hoolahan and Bakary Sako trained with the Baggies before signing on at the Hawthorns, which is exactly what Barnes has been doing in recent times.
The former MLS defender is now set to follow in their footsteps by signing a contract that will run out at the end of the current campaign.
Barnes is said to have impressed during a recent break in Dubai and could be set for a longer stay at the Hawthorns if he manages to have a positive impact over the next few months.
Giles Barnes could do a solid job for the Baggies at right-back as they currently only have loan signing Mason Holgate operating in that position at this moment in time.
So, the Baggies look set to secure a player agreement with Barnes on course to sign a contract until the end of the season.
