Queens Park Rangers could see one of their players leave the club imminently despite the January window having slammed shut.
West London Sport are claiming Giles Phillips is set to head to New England Revolution after agreeing to a deal with the MLS outfit.
The 21-year-old, who is yet to feature for the Championship side since his arrival in 2017, will team up with Brad Friedel later this month.
Niko Hamalainen has also been made available for loan this month and is thought to have a number of interested clubs keen on him, including New England.
However, it does not appear the Florida-born Finland international has agreed to a deal just yet to leave Loftus Park on a temporary arrangement.
A move to America could work out extremely well for Phillips once the window opens.
The 21-year-old is clearly on the fringes of the squad at the Championship outfit and does not appear to be close to breaking into Steve McClaren’s first-team plans.
The defender will have been disappointed not to have made an impact since arriving, however, the opportunity to potentially play regularly for New England could put him in the manager’s plans in the future.
