The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern are discussing the future of their star centre-back and World Cup-bound Swede, Pontus Jansson. The 27-year-old defender has been one of the Championship’s best defenders of the last two seasons and a couple of good showings in Russia could see a Premier League club take a punt on him, especially after reading his comments in Aftonbladet.
More from Jansson in the Swedish media. Says he's aware of interest in him, wants to stay in England but will leave questions about his future until after the World Cup:https://t.co/je7jOqpHHo

This summer could be a make or break time for Leeds United. The fans are hopeful that Andrea Radrizzani can come to an agreement with Marcelo Bielsa to replace Paul Heckingbottom, who was sacked last Friday, whilst a number of transfer targets have been touted to improve the squad, with Jerry Mbakogu and Kyle Bartley both named as Leeds bound more than once over the last few weeks.
If the Yorkshire club are to rise up from the ashes and gain Premier League promotion next season they’ll need to not only do good business in the window, they’ll need to hold on to some of the top performers they’ve already got. The club made the move to tie Pablo Hernandez to a two-year deal last month and now the club’s hierarchy will be turning their attention to Pontus Jansson, although it’s unclear whether they’ll be seeing the 27-year-old at Elland Road again after his comments.

Dya know what he can bloody go then all he’s done is talk this season, hasn’t delivered once.

Not the noises you make if you’re committed to staying. I’d be amazed if he’s still with us come the start of the season

If he wants to leave then state that now. Have a good World Cup, increase your value and let someone buy you on that 5 year contract you signed because they’ll pay a hefty fee for it and I’d rather have Bartley in our team nurturing O’Connor

Got to admit he's starting to annoy me! I can understand he wants to play at highest level so if he wants to go then just let him go. We only want Players who are committed 100% to the Club.

Honestly wouldn’t care if he left, runs his mouth all the time and hides when the going gets tough.

I’d be tempted to sell him if we can get Bartley and +1 a doubt he would fit into Beilsa’s plans also?
Jansson constantly looking for a move in my opinion. Dahlin won't be happy till he's got him a big money move away from Leeds.

I wish he would do his talking on the pitch
