Arsenal and Manchester United fans fetching a few ales in the Transfer Tavern are gathering round to hear the latest gossip from our landlord.
He’s been reading an exclusive from Calcio Mercato, which claims Inter Milan have dropped out of the race to sign Monaco’s midfield sensation Fabinho.
Originally a right-back, the Brazilian has continually excelled since moving into central midfield, this season netting nine times across all competitions – including a goal against Manchester City in the Champions League – whilst averaging 3.1 tackles and 1.7 interceptions per Ligue 1 appearance.
There’s been plenty of talk about him arriving in the Premier League this summer and Calcio Mercato continue to describe him as an Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United target – whilst also listing Real Madrid as potential fellow suitors.
Arsenal and United fans in the Tavern are more than excited by the idea of their club signing Fabinho; he’s been at the heart of a Monaco side that has taken domestic and European football by storm this season, boasting a three-point lead on PSG in Ligue 1 and reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
However, with so many big clubs interested, it remains to be seen where the 23-year-old will end up this summer.
