Inter set to raid Porto for duo?

This week at the Football Transfer Tavern, Italian giants Inter Milan have been the topic of many of our conversations and yesterday over the pool table it was reported that president Massimo Moratti had declared unlimited funds for the club – and today Forza Italia reports exactly who the club are after.

Porto look set to be raided by the Nerazzurri who are being linked to both Fernando and Rolando – key players for the Portuguese side who have reached the knockout stages of the Champions League and will not let either player go easily.

Defender Rolando is wanted to add some much needed defensive solidity to the side who Moratti rightly stated ‘lose a lot of points to smaller clubs’ and creative midfielder Fernando has long been coveted by the Italians, and given the contract situation surrounding Wesley Sneijder currently, reinforcements in that area would not go a miss.

As our landlord points out, Porto are used to selling their top players, yet at a hefty price meaning that the unlimited budget that Moratti has mooted could well be needed come January.

Do you think Inter should move for the Porto duo or will it spell the end for the Portuguese giants in Europe if they sell? Vote in our polls below.
