West Bromwich Albion have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure they are in a position to challenge for promotion back to the Premier League.
The Baggies were relegated to the Championship following a poor campaign in the top-flight and Darren Moore will be preparing to makes sure his side is as strong as possible.
The Hawthorns outfit have been bracing themselves over the transfer window with a number of their key players looking to leave the club this summer and it appears one more name will be added to the list of departures.
According to a report in the Express and Star, James McClean is thought to be edging closer to a move to Stoke City. It is believed the Republic of Ireland international will leave for a fee around £5million initially, with it possibly rising to £6m.
However, the report also intriguingly states that the Baggies are on the verge of finding a replacement for the midfielder, with an unnamed winger expected to arrive at the Hawthorns over the weekend.
West Brom will be pleased to have been able to offload McClean this summer after he made his intentions clear that he did not want to remain with the Baggies.
The midfielder refused to go on the club’s pre-season training camp and with the news that the club could be about to make their fourth signing of the summer, things are looking better for the Hawthorns outfit.
It will be interesting to find out who the unnamed winger is and what he can bring to West Brom, as they look to prepare for the upcoming Championship season.
