Nottingham Forest fans in the Transfer Tavern will be expecting the team to perform much better than they did last season and will want to see a number of changes be made.
Aitor Karanka’s side finished 17th in last season’s Championship table, however, the former Middlesbrough boss has made a number of exciting additions to help turn them into promotion contenders next year.
The Spaniard has already signed Benfica’s Joao Carvalho for a club-record fee, whilst Diogo Goncalves has joined them on a season-long loan from the same outfit. Gil Bastiao Dias has also arrived at the City Ground on a season-long loan from AS Monaco, however, they could be about to bring a striker to the club on a permanent deal.
According to reports in The Sun, Bournemouth’s Lewis Grabban is close to sealing a £5million move to join the Tricky Trees. The 30-year-old has proven he can find the back of the net at the Championship level, having spent time on loan at Sunderland and Aston Villa last year.
It is believed the striker is allowed to leave The Cherries as he has just one-year left on his deal at the Vitality Stadium and they want to cash in on him whilst they still can.
The arrival of Grabban would certainly be welcomed by the Forest fans in the Tavern as they will feel he can give them a chance of securing promotion to the Premier League. The striker has a proven record in England’s second-tier and the locals will be expecting him to replicate his form for them once again.
