Nottingham Forest could still be a couple of weeks away from bringing a striker to the City Ground this season.
Aitor Karanka has been working hard to improve his side over the course of the summer and has continued to add a number of free agents to his squad once the Championship season started.
He has added the likes of Claudio Yacob and Panagiotis Tachtsidis recently and is thought to be trying to push a deal through for former Olympiacos striker Karim Ansarifard.
The club are thought to have been working hard on the deal for the 28-year-old and believe a deal will be completed, however, it will not be done overnight.
Nottingham Forest already have a number of attacking options that Karanka can choose from, however, Ansarifard would be an excellent addition to have.
The former Olympiacos man netted 18 times in 27 appearances for the club last season and would certainly help the Tricky Trees with their goalscoring concerns.
However, it is extremely unlikely that a move will be done before Saturday’s match with Rotherham United and he may not be at the club before their game with Sheffield Wednesday either.
