Landing Czech forward would be enough to fire Leeds United up the Championship table

Leeds United boss Thomas Christiansen proved to be a busy man in the summer transfer window, completely overhauling the squad he inherited from former manager Garry Monk at Elland Road.

Whites fans here in The Transfer Tavern expect the Dane to be at it again this month, with Leeds challenging for promotion and in need of a boost ahead of a push for the Premier League over the course of the second-half of the campaign. Our landlord caught up with the Yorkshire bunch over a game of pool to discuss all things Leeds United, and conversation quickly turned to the transfer window. Fans were keen to see another striker brought in to ease the pressure off of Kemar Roofe, with the winger-turned-striker often relied upon to find the net at the top of the field this season.

With the likes of Jay-Roy Grot, Pawel Cibicki and Pierre-Michel Lasogga struggling for goals, our landlord couldn’t help but utilise his knowledge of the European game, and recommend a swoop for Viktoria Plzen striker, Michal Krmencik. The Czech forward has been in electric form for the Eastern European side this semester in both domestic and European competition, smashing eleven goals in only fourteen Gambrinus League appearances, as well as adding a further three to his tally in as many Europa League starts.

The 24-year-old also bagged two in two in Champions League qualifiers, but his side were cruelly dumped out of the competition in the final playoff stage against Romanians, FCSB. Ready for a big switch to English football, Leeds must make sure they are at the front of the queue to sign the player, who would surely fire them to a top-six finish this term.
