Leeds close to completing deal for Niklas Haugland

Leeds United are on the verge of completing a deal for an exciting teenage prospect this summer.

According to a report by Bergens Tidende, Niklas Haugland is thought to be heading to Elland Road on a permanent deal.

It has been claimed that he was on trial with the Yorkshire outfit when the Under-18s were on tour in the Netherlands.

It is believed a deal could go through in the near future as it has been suggested that just the small final details need to be completed before a switch from Norwegian third tier side Fana IL.

Leeds have clearly been working on making their youth side as strong as possible and the arrival of the 16-year-old will certainly help to make them better in the future, should he impress.

Marcelo Bielsa is still thought to be in the loan market for at least one more addition to help his side to continue to challenge for the Premier League.

The Verdict:

Haugland is obviously one for the future and Leeds will be hoping that he can develop into a star for the club.

The Elland Road outfit have focused on their youth side over the last couple of years and the Norwegian looks to be the latest talent to join them at Thorp Arch.

However, it will likely be some years before he is involved in the first-team and the club will have to remain patient with his development.
