Leeds confirm Oriol Rey departure

Marcelo Bielsa is continuing his efforts to trim his squad this summer and has seen another player leave the squad.
According to the club’s official Twitter handle, Oriol Rey has left the Whites to join UB Conquense on a season-long loan deal.
The 20-year-old has headed back to his homeland to join up with the fourth tier outfit as he looks to get some regular football under his belt.
The Spaniard, who joined from Barcelona last summer, shone in the developmental side at Thorp Arch last season and had been one of the players hoping to have been given a chance in the first-team under Bielsa.
Primarily a central midfielder, although he can play at centre-back as well, had featured for the Argentine during pre-season and made the bench in their draw to Swansea City last week, although that would have been due to Liam Cooper’s absence with injury.
The Verdict:
The loan move for Rey should benefit everyone involved with the deal, as the 20-year-old is highly thought of at Elland Road.
The midfielder only recently signed a two-year extension to remain at the Whites and Leeds will be keeping an eye on his progress with Conquense.
A star of the Under-23’s last season, Bielsa will be keen to see him improve and will be expecting him to come back as an even better player.
