Leeds continuing their scouting efforts in Portugal

Leeds United appear to be continuing their efforts in Portugal when it comes down to recruiting for new players.

According to Record, via Sport Witness, the Whites were spotted once again taking an interest in a Primeira Liga, with Rio Ave and Sporting Lisbon in action on Monday night.

The report does not suggest who the Championship outfit were interested in, however, their efforts in the European country cannot go unnoticed.

The Whites have certainly stepped up their scouting missions within Portugal recently and have been taking an interest in a number of games across the country in recent weeks.

Leeds could look to use some inspiration from the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest, who have both been rather successful when bringing players to the Championship in recent years.

The club have not been linked with any potential targets as of yet, however, Marcelo Bielsa could look to make a few additions in the January transfer window.

The Verdict:

This is not the first game in Portugal Leeds have had a scout at recently, so there could be some suggestion that they are looking to expand their recruitment drive.

It remains to be seen if the Whites decide to act in the January transfer market, and if they do, whether they will decide to recruit from the European nation.

With the number of injuries that Bielsa has had so far this season, it would not be unreasonable to expect to see a couple of new faces at Elland Road.
