Leeds United may finally be able to land a man that they have been chasing all summer after all as movements in the transfer window appear to make a deal even more likely.
Marcelo Bielsa has been frustrated with the club’s inability to get a number of deals for his top priorities this summer over the line.
The Argentine boss, who was a coup for the Whites in itself, would have been hoping to have already had his targets at Elland Road already as they prepare to challenge for a Premier League spot in this year’s Championship campaign.
However, he has made just the two loan signings with Chelsea pair Jamal Blackman and Lewis Baker both joining, whilst Barry Douglas is expected to join from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the very near future.
According to reports, the full-back may, however, be joined by another Championship star from last season, with The Sun claiming that Matej Vydra could finally be set to agree to a deal with the Elland Road outfit.
The Czech Republic international is thought to have had a move to Leeds stumble due to his wage demands, however, it appears he can now leave Pride Park as Derby County look to confirm the signings of Jack Marriott and Martyn Waghorn.
Leeds will be delighted if they can finally get a deal across the line for Vydra this summer.
One of Bielsa’s main priorities this summer is to add a striker to his squad and the Derby man would be considered a real coup. The forward has been prolific at the Championship level and was named as the top goalscorer for the competition last season.
He will be an expensive acquisition for the Whites, however, if he continues to produce the records he has, then Leeds will surely be in with a chance of finally getting back to the Premier League.
