Leeds United could still land one of their heavily linked targets this summer and could be able to sign him on a free transfer should they still want him.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been desperate to strengthen their squad for the upcoming Championship season, as they prepare to fight for a place in the Premier League.
The Whites have finally started to bring a number of players through the door at Elland Road, with Patrick Bamford and Barry Douglas both joining permanently, whilst Jamal Blackman, Lewis Baker and Jack Harrison on season-long loans.
It is thought that Bielsa may still want to add another striker to the fold at the club as a suitable back-up for his latest signing and could decide to go after a man the club once had an agreement for.
Jerry Mbakogu has been heavily linked with a move to the Yorkshire outfit with a deal thought to have been agreed back in January, however, there were doubts following an injury he suffered.
Leeds were thought to have gone off the idea of signing Mbakogu this summer, however, he could be a smart addition to make if he does become a free agent.
The Nigerian forward proved he could hit the back of the net on a consistent basis for Capri before his injury and obviously has some talent if the club considered him before.
However, with the arrival of Bamford, as well as Kemar Roofe and Caleb Ekuban still at the club, it leaves a question on whether is actually needed at Elland Road this season.
