Leeds United have endured somewhat of a rollercoaster this summer in terms of their transfer activity, however, it appears the ride could be about to hit another bump.
The Whites would have liked to have had a number of deals in place for a couple of additions already following the appointment of Marcelo Bielsa, however, setback after setback has left a frustrated feeling around Elland Road.
Deals for the likes of Matej Vydra, Abel Hernandez and David Stockdale have all appeared to have stumbled due to financial concerns, whilst it appears they may have missed out on long-term target Kyle Bartley to West Bromwich Albion.
However, according to reports in Sweden, the same outfit could be about to cause more trouble for the Whites this summer as Expressen are claiming the Baggies are interested in taking Pontus Jansson from Elland Road.
The World Cup defender has become a cult hero at Leeds since his time there and Albion seems keen on reuniting the pairing of him and Bartley as well after it worked so well for Leeds in the Championship a couple of seasons ago.
The Leeds defender has been outstanding for the Whites since he joined them and the club will want to do all they can to keep him.
The Swede is considered an integral member of the team and would surely figure highly in Bielsa’s plans as they look to get into the top-flight, with the player himself admitting he wants to do it with the Elland Road outfit.
However, should the Baggies make a substantial offer for the 27-year-old, it could force Leeds into thinking about making money from a possible sale.
