Leeds United have had a largely frustrating time this summer when it comes to recruiting new faces to Elland Road, however, they may be on the verge of signing their third player.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have already added Chelsea duo Jamal Blackman and Lewis Baker on season-long loan deals, however, they have failed to get a number of their main targets across the line.
The likes of Matej Vydra, Abel Hernandez and David Stockdale have all been rumoured with switches to the club in the past, however, stumbling blocks have proved to become obstacles for such deals to be completed.
However, it appears that the club could be about to welcome a player they were once linked with earlier in the transfer window.
Dimitar Sheytanov was once thought to be heading to Elland Road as Levski Sofia’s president had revealed that he had personally been negotiating a deal with Leeds for the transfer.
Now, it appears that a move could happen, with the 19-year-old goalkeeper taking to his Instagram to say his goodbyes to his current team-mates, with the caption “I will miss you…”.
Despite Leeds not being named as the club where the Bulgarian would be heading, or even confirming the news, it would appear more likely than not that he will be at Elland Road this summer.
With previous links and the president’s confirmation that he had been holding talks about a move to the Yorkshire outfit, it would all seem to make sense.
However, the goalkeeper would certainly be one for the future at the Whites, with the arrival of Blackman and Bailey Peacock-Farrell in the first-team already, so it is expected Sheytanov will compete with Kamil Miazek for the Under-23 spot.
