Leeds United will be facing plenty of competition if they want to land one of their rumoured transfer targets.
Marcelo Bielsa is believed to be keen on adding creative and attacking-minded players to his team and one man he has previously worked with has been linked with a move to Elland Road in recent weeks.
Ibai Gomez’s current deal at Alaves currently expires at the end of the season, which is thought to have attracted plenty of interest, with the Championship outfit set to face strong competition for the set-piece specialist’s signature.
According to a report by AS, it is being claimed that Athletic Bilbao – where Bielsa and the winger once were together, Real Sociedad, Eibar and Celta de Vigo are all taking an interest in the player.
The 29-year-old could yet decide to remain at Alaves as he could look to sign a new deal to remain with the impressive La Liga outfit.
Leeds will face some strong competition for Gomez and could find it extremely difficult to land the set-piece specialist.
The winger has been in fine form in La Liga so far this season, so it does not come as a surprise that a number of potential sides are interested.
With a number of potential offers to remain in Spain, whilst the option of renewing his deal at Alaves a real possibility, Bielsa will need to work as hard as possible to convince the 29-year-old to join him in the Championship.
