Leeds had scout at Stade Rennes – Real Betis Europa League tie on Thursday

Leeds United appear to be keeping tabs on potential transfer targets ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to the reliable Twitter page, Scouts in Attendance, the Championship leaders had a scout watching the Europa League tie between Stade Rennes and Real Betis on Thursday night.

With reports from Spanish outlet El Desmarque recently suggesting that Jese Rodriguez is a player that Leeds ‘fought to get’ in January, it would not be a surprise to hear if he was someone that was being watched closely.

And, they would have been impressed with how the former Real Madrid and Stoke City winger performed on the night.

On loan from Paris Saint-Germain, the 25-year-old came off the bench for Real Betis and set up the equaliser for the Spanish outfit to take a slim advantage heading into the second-leg.

The Verdict:

The rumours about bringing Jese Rodriguez to Leeds appeared to have come out of nowhere earlier this week, however, with a scout seemingly watching him in action, there may be some truth to the claims that had been made.

And, there is no doubt the 25-year-old would be an excellent addition to Marcelo Bielsa’s side this summer if they were able to land him.

The winger has plenty of experience of playing at the high-level, including a brief spell in the Premier League, and who knows what a manager of Bielsa’s talent will be able to do with the attacker.
