Leeds in advanced negotiations for Oliver Norwood

Leeds in advanced negotiations for Oliver Norwood

Leeds United could be about to land another addition this summer as the transfer window enters the penultimate day.

According to The Sun’s live transfer tracker, the club are thought to be closing in on a deal for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Oliver Norwood.

It is believed that the two clubs are in advanced negotiations about a switch for the 27-year-old, with it being claimed he could cost the Whites in the region of £1.5million.

Marcelo Bielsa has identified the central midfield as an area that needs improving as they look to mount a charge for promotion to the Premier League.

The Northern Ireland international is experienced at the Championship level, having helped the Seagulls gain top-flight football during the 2016-17 campaign and then repeated the feat last season when he was loaned out to Fulham.

The Verdict:

Norwood would be considered a great signing for Leeds and one that will give them every chance of finally getting back to the Premier League.

The 27-year-old will know what it takes to get out of the Championship and that experience could prove vital for Bielsa’s side this season.

The club are looking a little short of options when it comes to the centre of midfield, with the departure of Ronaldo Vieira, the loss of Adam Forshaw to injury whilst other options are not considered good enough by the manager.
