Samu Saiz is set to leave Leeds United imminently, however, it appears the club have already started to act on identifying who they want to replace the departing Spaniard.
The midfielder’s current contract at Brentford is set to expire in the summer and Marcelo Bielsa could be prepared to tempt their Championship counterparts into selling the midfielder for a cut-price fee.
He has already rejected the chance to extend his stay at Griffin Park, which makes it seem likely that the club will be interested in trying to get something for his services.
Macleod has been in fine form for the Bees this season, which has led to Rangers also being interested in bringing him back to Ibrox.
With Saiz expected to depart, Macleod could be an excellent addition for Leeds to add in the winter as they continue in their efforts to win promotion to the Premier League.
The 24-year-old has proven that he has the quality to play at the Championship level as he continually impresses for Brentford with his performances.
Bielsa will now need to hope that the lure of promotion to the top-flight could be enough to convince the Scottish midfielder to join him at Elland Road, rather than a possible return to Ibrox.
