Leeds in talks about deal for Mbaye Diagne

Leeds in talks about deal for Mbaye Diagne

Leeds United will be looking to build on the two loan signings they have already made this summer as they look to prepare for the upcoming Championship season.

Marcelo Bielsa has already added the Chelsea pair of Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman on season-long loan deals, however, the Argentine is thought to still have a number of positions he wants to strengthen in his squad.

One main area of concern for the Whites this summer has been the centre-forward area, with the likes of Matej Vydra and Abel Hernandez, amongst a host of others having been linked with moves to Elland Road.

However, reports in Turkey have now suggested a new name is on Bielsa’s radar following his impressive short stint in the Turkish Super Lig.

According to Turkish-Football, Leeds have joined the race for Kasimpasa’s Mbaye Diagne following his exploits since moving from China.

The striker has scored 12 times, and also added two assists, in just 17 appearances for Kasimpasa since his arrival in January and plenty of Championship clubs have taken notice.

However, it is understood that talks between the player’s representatives and Leeds have already begun.

The Verdict:

The Senegalese forward would prove to an outstanding addition to the Leeds side, however, he is likely to cost them a fair amount of money, especially since he has only been at Kasimpasa for a short time.

However, fact that the club are already in talks with the player’s representatives about a move could be a positive sign to come for the Whites.

The centre-forward is a tall and physical player, which would certainly suit the demands of the Championship game and knows how to find the back of the net on a regular basis.

Bielsa is keen to bring a striker to Elland Road and after failed attempts to bring Vydra and Hernandez, Diagne could be the man he finally lands to solve their goalscoring concerns this summer.
