Leeds United fans must be feeling rather confident that their side can finally achieve promotion to the Premier League this season following the work that Marcelo Bielsa has managed to complete this season.
The Whites have put themselves in a strong position, although there will be a general excitement regarding the club’s youth academy and the players who could soon make the step up to the next level and it appears a new name is on their radar.
What’s the News?
According to a report by Aftonbladet, Leeds are understood to hold an interest in Malmo FF youngster Amel Mujanic.
The 17-year-old has found it difficult to get an opportunity this season and could be allowed to leave, with West Ham United also thought to be keen on him.
Mujanic is clearly not getting the chances that many believe he deserves at Malmo, with his agent appearing to be frustrated with what is going on in the report, as his client continues to fail to earn a professional contract with the club.
The midfielder would not be the first youngster to leave the Swedish outfit and Leeds could certainly be a favourable destination for him.
Vitor Orta has brought in a number of talented youngsters from around the world to try and bolster the academy ranks and Mujanic would surely fit the profile of a player the director of football could target.
Leeds have a history of bringing a number of younger players through the ranks and the Swede could thrive at Elland Road under the close development of Carlos Corberan and Marcelo Bielsa.
However, with West Ham also keen, it could be difficult for the club to try and convince him that a move to Yorkshire would be more beneficial for him than a switch to London.
Leeds fans, what do you make of a possible move for Mujanic? Do you think he could excel at the Whites and make a name for himself if he did arrive? Join in with the discussion by sharing your thoughts with us below.
